| The Peoples Plaza Merchants Association holds events three times a year
at Peoples Plaza. Peoples Plaza is a community based Shopping Center that
fills a wide variety pf shopping and service needs in addition to giving
back to the community. Peoples Plaza Spring Fest The Peoples Plaza Spring Festival is a two-day event in May with fireworks and activities for all ages. The proceeds of the day's events are donated to the canal Little League for their use with their baseball league. Each year the Canal Little League parents are actively involved in the Spring Fest Activities. Peoples Plaza Fall Fest The Peoples Plaza Fall is held in October near Halloween and is filled with Halloween related activities and contests - fun for all ages. Several non-profit organizations have been the recipients of the proceeds from the fall Fest and always have plenty of volunteers on hand to help with the day's festivities.
Peoples Plaza Christmas Celebration The Peoples Plaza Christmas Celebration is a December tradition that welcomes Santa and Mrs. Claus to Peoples Plaza for pictures with the kids (big and little) as well as dropping off Christmas wish lists. In addition to Mr. & Mrs. Santa, Rudolph, and Frosty, there are many fun-filled activities including trolley rides, horse & carriage rides, puppet shows, story time, caroling, a disc jockey, and live radio remotes. The proceeds of the Christmas Celebration have been donates to the WJBR Joy Fund and the Peoples Plaza Holiday Hope Fund. The Holiday Hope Fund uses the proceeds of the day to fill the Christmas wish list of local needy families and children in local orphanages.
